Arizona Sundogs News Release

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League welcomed their 500,000th fan through the doors of Tim's Toyota Center Tuesday night prior to the team's game against the Odessa Jackalopes.

Shelley Pike, joined by her husband, Bob, was the lucky fan who entered the arena becoming the 500,000th fan in team history.

Pike was greeted by Sundogs Director of Business Operations Bill Yates, mascot Burnie and Sundogs staff members during a celebration that included balloons, confetti and noise makers.

Residents of Prescott for seven years and season ticket holders since the team's inaugural season in 2006-07, Pike said she was surprised to be the 500,000th fan.

"It's very exciting and surprising," said Pike. "We were later than usual tonight so we expected it had already happened. We appreciate the team recognizing its fans and how important they are."

Selected as the half-millionth fan, Pike receives a prize package valued at nearly $6,000 including a Samsung 4.5 cu. ft. Extra Large Front Load Steam Washer and 7.4 cu. ft. Super Capacity Front Load Gas Steam Dryer, courtesy of Best Buy, a 4-day, 3-night stay in Baja California, Mexico, courtesy of SanFelipeVacations.com, a Motorola Droid cell phone and all accessories, courtesy of Verizon Wireless, a pair of roundtrip airline tickets from Prescott to either Denver, Colorado or Ontario, California, courtesy of Great Lakes Airlines and two End Section season tickets for the Arizona Sundogs' 2010-2011 season.

"We'd like to thank our fans for the tremendous support our club has received in our three-plus seasons in the Central Hockey League," said Yates. "Half-a-million fans is a significant milestone in the history of our franchise and it wouldn't have been possible without our great fans."
