
Travs Rally But Fall Short against Wichita

North Little Rock, AR - A 7-run hole was too much to dig out of as the Wichita Wind Surge held on to defeat the Arkansas Travelers 7-4 on Wednesday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. Arkansas closed the gap late and put the tying run on base with two out in eighth. Louie Varland shutout the Travs for 5.1 innings and earned the win. Levi Stoudt struggled after a scoreless first and was tagged with the loss. Kaden Polcovich led the offense with a three hit night.
Moments That Mattered
* Ben Onyshko came on with the bases loaded and none out in the sixth and got out of the inning with no runs scoring.
* Arkansas had five straight men reach with two out in the eighth forcing a Wichita pitching change. New pitcher Alex Scherff hit Jake Scheiner forcing in a run and bringing the go-ahead run to the plate but a foul out to third ended the inning.
