Corpus Christi, TX - The Arkansas Travelers dropped consecutive games for the first time in the second half of the season as they were defeated by the Corpus Christi Hooks, 9-4 on Friday night. The Hooks had at least one hit in every inning but only scored in the third and in an eight-run fifth. With the win, Corpus Christi took the series, two games to one. It was the final regular season meeting between the teams who were their division's first half champions and the Travs won the season series, seven games to five.

Moments That Mattered

* Arkansas missed a chance for an early lead in the third. With one out and runners at the corners, Yonathan Mendoza hit what appeared to be a sacrifice fly to left field but DeCarlo was ruled to have left before the catch.

* Corpus Christi's eight-run fifth inning was highlighted by a three-run homer from Abraham Toro who was making his Double-A debut.

* The Travs snapped a 16 inning scoreless drought with four tallies in the eighth on Yonathan Mendoza's two out, two-run single and Eric Filia's subsequent two-run homer.
