Travs Doubleheader Cancelled at Nwa
May 23, 2011 - Texas League (TL1)
Arkansas Travelers News Release
Springdale, Arkansas - Monday's doubleheader between the Arkansas Travelers and Northwest Arkansas Naturals has been cancelled due to torrential rain and unplayable field conditions. The first game was stopped in the second inning at 11:32 a.m. and play was never restarted. With continued storms in the forecast for the rest of the day, the decision was made by the umpiring crew to cancel the games at 3:05 p.m.
That makes three cancelled games with no make up in the season series between the Travs and Naturals leaving both teams well short of a full schedule in the first half.
The Travs return to action Wednesday at Dickey-Stephens Park following Tuesday's off day. The San Antonio Missions will visit the Travs for three games Wednesday through Friday.
