
Blake Tekotte Gets Promoted To San Diego

San Antonio - Missions outfielder Blake Tekotte has been promoted to the San Diego Padres and will join the big club tonight in San Diego.
In 39 games with San Antonio, Tekotte hit .291 (43-for-148) with nine doubles, one triple, six home runs, 24 RBI and 30 runs scored. At the time of his call-up, he was second in the Texas League with 14 stolen bases and fifth in walks (26).
Tekotte was San Diego's third round selection in the 2008 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Miami (FL). The 23-year old native of Columbia, MO entered the 2011 season as the Padres' 14th rated prospect by Baseball America.
