Travelers Walk off Frisco in 10 Innings

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas - The Frisco RoughRiders tied the game against the Arkansas Travelers in the ninth before being walked off on in a 10-inning, 4-3 defeat from Dickey-Stephens Park on Saturday night.

With Frisco (37-22) trailing 3-2 into the ninth, Josh Stowers tied the game with a two-out RBI single, knotting the score at 3-3.

After the Riders were held scoreless in the top of the 10th, Arkansas (31-27) came back with a the winning run in the bottom of the inning when Jake Scheiner hit a sacrifice fly to left field, bringing in Bobby Honeyman.

Stephen Villines (4-2) took the loss for Frisco, allowing the unearned automatic runner to score in the bottom of the 10th.

Collin Kober (2-0) was the winner for the Travelers, throwing a scoreless 10th inning.

To start the scoring, Joe Rizzo put Arkansas on the board in the third with an RBI single to make it 1-0.

Diosbel Arias then tied it at 1-1 with an RBI groundout in the fourth, but in the bottom half of the inning, the Travelers took the lead right back. Scheiner scored on a passed ball and Stephen Wrenn hit a sacrifice fly to jump Arkansas back out in front 3-1.

Frisco made it a one-run game when Stowers smacked an RBI double off the wall in the seventh before he tied it in the ninth.

The RoughRiders conclude their six-game set with the Travelers on Sunday, July 11th at 2:10 p.m. RHP A.J. Alexy (3-1, 1.64) goes for Frisco while Arkansas has yet to announce a starter.
