
Trashers Take Out Mechanics

Danbury, CT â Alex Goupil and Doug Christensen each recorded hat tricks for the Danbury Trashers as the visiting Motor City Mechanics suffered a 9-3 loss.
Danbury took a 1-0 lead with just 12 seconds remaining in the first period. Motor City's Jeff Doyle scored 16 seconds into the second period to knot the game at one. The Trashers dominated the remainder of the second period, scoring four goals, including one on the powerplay, to take a 5-1 lead.
Ryan Baker found the back of the net for the Mechanics on a shorthanded strike 52 seconds into the third but Danbury continued to control the pace of the game. Rick Smith scored the third Motor City goal and the Trashers came away with the 9-3 win.
The Mechanics visit the Kalamazoo Wings for an early game on Wednesday, February 23rd, the puck drops at 10:30 am. On Friday, February 25th, the Mechanics host the Flint Generals at 7:30 pm. Also on Friday, Henry Ford Health Systems presents the Zooperstars!
On Saturday, February 27th, Motor City hockey hits the road for a game against the Quad City Mallards before returning home to The Garage for a Sunday game against the Missouri River Otters.
