September 1, 2009 - International League (IL1)
Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

(Allentown, Pa.) - IronPigs 1B Andy Tracy became the first IronPigs player in franchise history to be selected to the 2009 International League postseason All-Star Team, which was announced by the I.L. today. Postseason All-Star team members were selected by the circuit's managers, coaches, media, and club representatives.

Tracy, 35, has been one of the most productive hitters in the I.L. this season and currently ranks among the league leaders in a handful of offensive categories, including home runs (2nd, 24), RBI (2nd, 88) and runs scored (4th, 71). Tracy's 24 round-trippers reset his own team-record for home runs in a season -- the most by a Phillies Triple-A player since 1989.

At the season's midway point, Tracy was named to the Triple-A All-Star Game for the first time since 2000 following a torrid month of June, during which he hit .302 with six home runs and 24 RBI. He also scored 25 runs, belted 10 doubles and was issued 18 walks during his prolific June play

An original member of the IronPigs, Tracy batted .288 during the club's inaugural season and paced the team with both 22 home runs and 85 RBI. He was also named the Phillies' Minor League Player of the Month last June, hitting .446 with four homers and 18 RBI. Tracy also played in four games for the Phillies last season - his first Major League action since 2004.

The Bowling Green, Ohio, native is currently hitting .250 and leads the team in games played (122); home runs (24); RBI (88) and walks (70).

The I.L. also announced its year-end award winners today, and former IronPigs RHP Justin Lehr was named the league's Most Valuable Pitcher. Lehr's 13 combined wins between Lehigh Valley and Louisville are tied for the league lead. The current Cincinnati Red started the year with the IronPigs, going 5-2, 4.75 ERA in eight starts until being traded May 23. He also became the first Lehigh Valley hurler to win an I.L. Pitcher-of-the-Week award - which he did twice from April 13-19 and May 4-10.

Other award winners include Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's Shelley Duncan (Most Valuable Player), Austin Jackson (Rookie of the Year) and Louisville's Rick Sweet (Manager of the Year).
