
Chiefs announce 2010 schedule

The Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, have announced their 144-game International League schedule for the 2010 season. To open the year, the team will be at home on April 8th to face the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the first game of a four-game set. Game times for the schedule will be announced in September.
As per league rules, the Chiefs will play 16 games (eight home and eight road) against the North Division, which includes Thruway rivals Rochester and Buffalo, Lehigh Valley, Pawtucket's Red Sox and the Yankees of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The schedule also includes eight games (four home and four road) with each inter-division opponent.
Highlights of the schedule include three eight-game homestands and four eight-game road trips. The Chiefs will also embark on a one-game road trip to Pennsylvania to take on Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, July 3rd before returning home for Independence Day to face Pawtucket.
