Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
OMAHA, NE - Tracy Lawrence, who's had eight number one songs on the Billboard country music charts in his 18-year career, will perform in concert on Friday, July 17th, at Rosenblatt Stadium. The concert - presented for a fourth consecutive season by Werner Enterprises and KAT 103 - will cap off a night of entertainment that begins with the Omaha Royals hosting the Memphis Redbirds at 7:05 p.m. and also includes post-game fireworks.
Lawrence's tenth studio album, entitled The Rock, is scheduled for a June 9th release. The 10-song CD is an inspirational country CD that Lawrence says his mom and dad have been coaxing him to record for years. Lawrence introduced the first single off the album, "Up To Him" to radio in March.
Lawrence hit the national spotlight in 1991 with his debut album, Sticks and Stones, which boasted four Top 10 country hits, including the title track which went to number one. He was named Billboard's Top New Male Vocalist in 1992.
His second album, the double-platinum Alibis(1993), spawned four straight #1 hits - the title cut, "Can't Break It To My Heart," "My Second Home" and "If the Good Die Young." That garnered Lawrence the Academy of Country Music's Top New Male Vocalist trophy.
He also earned the Country Weekly Golden Pick Awards' Video Artist of the Year Prize in 1995, among other honors in his career.
"Once again, the Omaha Royals and Werner Enterprises have put together a memorable evening," said Fred Thayer, Werner Enterprises' Director of Corporate Communications. "Tracy Lawrence is a talented artist with many number one hits and quite a fan base. Everyone in the community is encouraged to come out and enjoy some baseball, fireworks and a great concert."
"For a fourth consecutive season, Werner Enterprises will provide a tremendous opportunity for the community to enjoy a country music star, fireworks and baseball all for as little as $10," said Royals Vice President/General Manager Martie Cordaro. "We are proud to have such a tremendous partner in Werner Enterprises."
