
Angels Recall Willits, Option Wood to Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY (May 6, 2009) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has recalled outfielder Reggie Willits and optioned infielder Brandon Wood to Triple-A Salt Lake.
Willits, 27, has appeared in 22 games for the Bees in 2009, hitting .250 with four doubles, 10 RBI and three stolen bases. He has appeared in one game for the Angels this season. In 82 games for the Angels in 2008, he hit .194 with four doubles and seven RBI. The Chickasha, Okla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the seventh round of the 2003 free agent draft.
Wood, 24, has appeared in three games for the Angels in 2009, hitting .333 and scoring two runs. He has appeared in seven games for the Bees this season, hitting .346 with four homeruns and eight RBI. The Austin, Texas native was originally selected in the first round, 23rd overall, by the Angels in the 2003 draft.
