ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The Winston-Salem Dash fell 6-3 on Friday night against the Asheville Tourists.

Cooper Bradford was handed the ball for Winston-Salem and lost some feel in the third inning as he walked C.J. Stubbs, who moved to second on a wild pitch. Deury Carrasco pushed him to third on a single, and another wild pitch brought Stubbs home. After Bradford walked Alex McKenna, Ryan Newman brought in Declan Cronin to try and stop the bleeding. Instead, Cronin gave up a double to Wilyer Abreu to score Carrasco. Joe Perez piled onto the 2-0 lead as he punched a three-run homer over the left-center field wall to give Asheville a 5-0 edge at the end of the third.

The Dash offense struck with a two-spot in the sixth frame. Jaime Melendez walked two batters in a row and plated Johan Cruz with a wild pitch. Travis Moniot also touched home on a groundout by Ian Dawkins.

Asheville scored another in the home half of the seventh as Wilyer Abreu walked and moved to second on a passed ball. Abreu came around to score on a line drive double by Joe Perez to push Asheville ahead to a 6-2 lead.

The Tourists did not escape the ninth inning completely unscathed. Reliever Chandler Casey gave up a leadoff single to Lenyn Sosa. Sosa advanced to second on a fielder's choice groundout and quickly moved to third on a passed ball. Another groundout pushed Sosa home to put the Dash within three runs.

However, the scoring stopped there and the Dash fell to the Tourists by the score of 6-3. Jaime Melendez (2-1) penned the win for Asheville, while Cooper Bradford (1-2) took the loss for the Dash. Chandler Casey collected his second save on the year.

Asheville moves ahead in the series 3-1. The two teams will go head-to-head for game five of the series on Saturday evening at McCormick Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. ET.
