Tourists Playoff Tickets on Sale June 23

June 14, 2012 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Asheville Tourists News Release

Having clinched the first-half Southern Division championship in the South Atlantic League with Wednesday's victory at Greenville, the Asheville Tourists announced that playoff tickets will go on sale Saturday, June 23, at 10 a.m.

After opening the playoff series at the ballpark of the second-half Southern Division winner on Wednesday, September 5, the Tourists will play at McCormick Field on Friday, September 7, and Saturday, September 8, if necessary. The Tourists also would host the first two games of the championship series, on September 10 and 11, should they advance to that round.

Tickets to all four potential home playoff games will be on sale, beginning June 23. All games will start at their normal times, including 6:05 p.m. on Saturday and 7:05 p.m. on Friday, Monday and Tuesday. Ticket prices will be the same as regular-season contests, with refunds available for any games not played. Full-season ticket holders, meanwhile, can purchase their seats for $5 per game, through July 20. The Tourists will also have $1 hot dogs for the Friday night game.

"Earning a spot in the playoffs is something you can never count on, but it is a great situation when it happens," said team president Brian DeWine. "It's a great reward for our team, and we want to make it a similar experience for our fans."

The Tourists are concluding the first half with a four-game series at Lexington before a three-day break early next week for the SAL All-Star Game in Charleston, South Carolina. The Tourists return home to McCormick Field on Thursday, June 21, for a four-game series against the Rome Braves. For more information, contact the Tourists' front office at (828) 258-0428.
