June 14, 2012 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Asheville Tourists News Release

Entering Thursday, the Tourists had only lost back-to-back games on the road one time this season. That number remained one as Asheville plated a run in the ninth, breaking a 4-4 tie, and holding on for the win.

Delta Cleary Jr. led the way for the T's, going 4-for-5 with three doubles and a Home Run. Taylor Featherston singled home Cleary Jr. in the ninth for the game winning run.

Alex Gillingham went seven for the Tourists, and kept them in the game against a potent Lexington Legend lineup. Rafael Suarez earned the win with a perfect eighth and Geoff Parker picked up his first save of the year with a one, two, three ninth.

Lexington took an early lead on Zach Johnson's RBI double in the first. Asheville answered back when Rosell Herrera doubled in Cleary Jr. in the third. Legends third-baseman Matt Duffy put the home team in front 2-1 with a Home Run in the bottom of the third.

The Tourists rallied for a three-spot in the fourth to go in front 4-2. Jose Rivera delivered a sacrifice fly and Cleary Jr. connected with a two-run bomb; his fourth Home Run of the season.

Lexington put together a two-out rally in the sixth and knotted the game up 4-4, but Asheville's late heroics netted them the 5-4 victory. The T's and the Legends are back at it again Friday night for game two of the scheduled four game set.
