Asheville Tourists News Release

ASHEVILLE - The Lexington Legends swept a double-head from the Asheville Tourists on Sunday night. Lexington held on to with the first game 5-4 and took the back end from Asheville 5-3.

The Tourists built a 3-1 lead in game one of the double header but the Legends used a three-run fourth inning to take a 4-3 lead. After the Legends added an insurance run, Asheville received an RBI double by Taylor Snyder in the bottom of the seventh that brought the Tourists to within one. Unfortunately, Snyder was left at second base to end the game.

In game two, Lexington held Asheville's offense to one first inning run while the Legends tallied a 5-1 advantage heading to the sixth. Casey Golden hit an RBI single and Ramon Marcelino picked up an RBI groundout. The Tourists never came any closer.

Asheville totaled 13 hits in the two games and Bret Boswell was responsible for five of them. Boswell went 3-for-4 in game one and 2-for-3 in game two. Boswell has reached base in 18 straight games and his current 16-game home hitting streak is the longest streak for any player in the South Atlantic League this season.

Asheville and Lexington wrap up their five-game series on Monday afternoon with a 1:05pm first pitch.
