
Toros Games To Air On Lone Star Sports Network

AUSTIN, Texas November 27, 2009 - The Austin Toros announced today that regular season home games will be televised by the LoneStar Sports Network on Grande Communications, channel 131. Games are scheduled to air live, a first in Toros history. Retired NBA player, Malik Rose will join Toros play-by-play announcer Marc Hoenig as a color commentator throughout the season. Rose was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1996 and signed by the San Antonio Spurs in 1997. He was a member of the Spurs' NBA Championship teams in 1999 and 2003.
"This is an exciting day in the history of the Austin Toros. For the first time, fans from all around central Texas who subscribe to Grande Communications will have the opportunity to watch the non-stop excitement that is Toros basketball," said Peter Lubell, Toros COO. "Adding a NBA presence like Malik Rose as color commentator will bring years of professional basketball insight to every telecast."
The LoneStar Sports Network features a variety of sports entertainment programming in Texas. "We are truly excited to add Austin Toros basketball to our program lineup here at LoneStar Sports," offered Cedric McLaughlin, President and CEO. "The NBA D-League is a professional organization in which we are proud to help promote."
Radio listeners can tune into ESPN Austin to hear games live on their family of radio stations including KZNX-AM (AM 1530), KTXX-FM (104.9 The Horn), and KWNX-AM (Austin Deportes).
