
Red Claws To Have A Wicked Whoopie Holiday

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, will today officially launch The Original Hoopie Pie at the city of Portland's annual Christmas tree lighting in Monument Square. Team mascot Crusher will be joined by Isamax Snacks founder Amy Bouchard as the pair hand out 1,000 Hoopie Pies to celebrate the launch of the new product.
Created by Isamax Snacks of Gardiner, Maine and featuring the Red Claws logo on the label, the Hoopie Pie will be available not only at Red Claws home games at the Portland Expo this season but also at retail locations throughout Maine.
"We are proud to be one of the first teams to produce a team-branded product that will be sold outside of their arena," Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings said. "Wicked Whoopies are iconic not only in the state of Maine but have garnered national attention as well. We feel extremely fortunate that Amy Bouchard and Isamax Snacks have entered into this partnership with the Red Claws, and we are looking forward to seeing Hoopie Pies in stores throughout Maine."
Isamax Snacks was established in 1994 by Amy Bouchard who began baking whoopie pies in the kitchen of her Gardiner home. As demand grew, she established her first commercial bakery in 1996 which today produces more than 7,000 whoopie pies a day. Isamax Snacks has received national attention including appearing on Oprah Winfrey's "O" list, being named the snack of the day on Rachel Ray's show, and being featured on Good Morning America, the Food Network and QVC.
"I am so proud to be working with the Maine Red Claws and producing the Hoopie Pie," Isamax Snacks founder Amy Bouchard said. "I am in business to created the best whoopie pies, make people smile, and bring back childhood memories. I know the Maine Red Claws have all the same sweet ingredients!"
