
Toronto Overcomes Two Goal Deficit to Defeat Houston

Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies defeated the Houston Aeros, AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, last night from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Carter Ashton opened the scoring for Toronto less than three minutes into the game. The Aeros would equalize just over five minutes later on a goal from Justin Fontaine. The middle frame would see Houston outscore Toronto 3-1, with goals from Chad Rau, Jason Zucker and Charlie Coyle. Keith Aucoin's first goal as a member of the Marlies was Toronto's lone tally in the second period. The Marlies applied pressure early in the final frame and eventually Leo Komarov, Jake Gardiner and Carter Ashton would score less than five minutes apart to give the Marlies a 5-4 lead. Ryan Hamilton added an empty net goal to secure the win for Toronto. The comeback marked the first time this season that Toronto has won a game when trailing after two periods.
The Marlies eight-game road trip continues tonight in Austin where they will play the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars. Puck drop is set for 8:30 p.m. eastern time. The game can be heard live on TSN 1050 in Toronto.
