What You Need To Know About The Marlies

- The Marlies announced earlier this morning they have signed Kory Nagy to a PTO and recalled Mike Duco from the Orlando Solar Bears (ECHL)

- The AHL announced this week that Marlies forward Spencer Abbott has been added to the roster for next week's All-Star festivities. Abbott ranks 4th in AHL scoring with 49 points in 44 games

- T.J. Brennan leads all AHL defencemen with 48 points and 19 goals

- Drew MacIntyre leads the AHL in wins (20)

- The Marlies rank 8th in AHL powerplay percentage (20.3%) and 10th in AHL penalty kill percentage (83.7%)

Last Week:

The Toronto Marlies posted a record of 2-2-0-0 in four games this past week.

Last Thursday, Toronto was defeated 5-3 by the Oklahoma City Barons, AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers. Spencer Abbott had two goals and an assist in the loss.

The following night Toronto defeated the San Antonio Rampage, AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers, by a score of 4-3 in overtime. Brandon Kozun recorded three points, including the game winning goal at 34 seconds of the overtime period. Garret Sparks stopped 26 shots in the victory.

In their third game in as many days, the Marlies were defeated 6-0 by the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars. The Stars tallied three powerplay goals, while Drew MacIntyre made 32 saves.

Earlier this morning, Toronto defeated San Antonio for a second time this week by a score of 5-4 in a shootout at Ricoh Coliseum. Jerry D'Amigo tallied two goals and scored the game winning goal in the shootout. Garret Sparks made 18 saves to earn the victory.

Look Ahead:

The Marlies will take to the ice for two games this coming week.

On Friday night, Toronto will play host to the Grand Rapids Griffins, AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, at 7 p.m. The Marlies are 3-0- 0-0 against the Griffins so far this season. Teemu Pulkkinen leads Grand Rapids in scoring with 40 points (18 goals, 22 assists) in 46 games. On Sunday afternoon, Toronto will host the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, at 3 p.m. The game can be seen live on Sportsnet 360. The Marlies are 5-2-2-0 against the Bulldogs so far this season.

Martin St. Pierre leads Hamilton in scoring with 29 points (8 goals, 21 assists) in 42 games. Following Sunday's game, the Marlies will be on their All-Star break before returning home on Saturday, February 15 to host Färjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League in an exhibition game.
