What You Need To Know About The Toronto Marlies...

- Ryan Hamilton ranks 8th in AHL goals with 20 in 42 games played

- Toronto's powerplay ranks 11th in the AHL having scored 44 goals on 247 opportunities (17.8%). The penalty kill also ranks 11th (84.7%)

- The Marlies hold a record of 18-0-1-1 when leading after two periods of play

- Defenceman Paul Ranger ranks 7th (tie) in AHL plus/minus rating (+17)

- Toronto holds a record of 22-5-2 when registering at least one powerplay goal

Last Week:

The Toronto Marlies posted a record of 1-3-0-0 this past week.

On Wednesday, the Hamilton Bulldogs defeated Toronto by a score of 6-4. Mike Mottau, Greg Scott, Ryan Hamilton and Jerry D'Amigo each notched two points in the loss. Goaltender Jussi Rynnas stopped 20 of 25 shots.

The Marlies earned a split in two games over the weekend. On Saturday, Toronto defeated the Chicago Wolves by a score of 4-2. Joe Colborne, Jesse Blacker and Jake Gardiner each recorded two points, while Jussi Rynnas stopped 24 of 26 shots in the victory. The following day, the Marlies were defeated 3-2 by the Western Conference leading Texas Stars. Ryan Hamilton and Greg McKegg registered the Toronto goals. Mark Owuya stopped 30 of 33 shots in the loss.

In their last contest of the season against Hamilton, the Marlies were defeated by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday night. Will Acton and Joe Colborne tallied for Toronto while Jussi Rynnas made 25 saves in the loss.

Look Ahead:

The Marlies will play two games at Ricoh Coliseum this coming week.

On Saturday, Toronto will host the Hershey Bears, AHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m. Hershey defeated Toronto by a score of 4-2 in the only other meeting between the two teams this season. Forward Jeff Taffe leads the Bears in scoring with 42 points in 45 games. Goaltender Danny Sabourin has posted a record of 7- 7-2 in 18 games this season.

After a day off on Sunday, Toronto will host the Houston Aeros, AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, on Monday afternoon. Puck drop is set for 1 p.m. The Marlies defeated the Aeros earlier in the year by a score of 6-4. Rookie Jason Zucker leads Houston in scoring with 41 points in 46 games.
