
Emerson Etem Re-Joins Admirals from Ducks; Holland and Maroon Called up by Anaheim

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks, NHL parent club of the AHL's Norfolk Admirals, have returned forward Emerson Etem to the Admirals and have recalled forwards Patrick Maroon and Peter Holland from Norfolk.
Etem, 6-foot-0, 202 pounds, appeared in eight games with the Ducks after being recalled on Jan. 27th. He posted two assists, two penalty minutes and six shots in those games. Etem made his NHL debut on Jan. 29th at San Jose and registered his first NHL points with a pair of assists on Feb. 2nd vs. Los Angeles.
The native of Long Beach, California, has appeared in 40 games for the Admirals in his first full pro season, posting 12 goals and 14 points. He ranks fourth in goals and fifth in scoring on the team. Etem has appeared in 40 career AHL games between the Admirals and Syracuse Crunch, scoring 13 goals and 15 points. Etem has also skated in four Calder Cup Playoff games, netting two goals.
Etem, 20, was selected by Anaheim in the first round (29th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to turning pro, Etem recorded 143 goals and 252 points in 202 career junior games with the Western Hockey League's Medicine Hat Tigers. Last season, Etem led all Canadian Hockey League players (QMJHL, OHL and WHL) with 61 goals in 65 games.
Holland, 6-foot-2, 192 pounds, has appeared in one game with Anaheim this season, logging 7:57 of ice time. In five career NHL games with the Ducks, Holland has one goal and two penalty minutes.
Holland, 21, has appeared in 39 games with the Admirals this season, registering 16 goals and 35 points with 58 penalty minutes. Holland leads Norfolk in goals and points while ranking second in assists. In 113 career AHL games between the Admirals and Syracuse Crunch, Holland has 42 goals and 103 points.
The native of Toronto, Ontario, was selected by Anaheim in the first round (15th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. In 256 career games with the OHL's Guelph Storm, Holland netted 103 goals and 257 points.
Maroon, 6-foot-3, 231 pounds, has appeared in 45 games with Norfolk this season, recording 13 goals and 30 points with 108 penalty minutes. Maroon leads the Admirals in games played, penalty minutes and game-winning goals (3), is tied for the team lead with seven power play goals, ranks second in points and is tied for third in goals. In 334 career AHL games between Norfolk, Syracuse and Adirondack/Philadelphia, Maroon has scored 105 goals and 258 points with 513 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in eight career Calder Cup Playoff games, posting one goal and three points.
The 24-year-old native of St. Louis, Missouri, was acquired by Anaheim from Philadelphia along with David Laliberte in exchange for Danny Syvret and Rob Bordson on November 21, 2010. He has appeared in two career NHL games - both with the Ducks last season - and has two penalty minutes in those games. Prior to turning pro, Maroon appeared in one season with OHL London, leading the 2007-08 Knights with 35 goals, 55 assists and 90 points in 64 games.
