LOS ANGELES, CA - The 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled defenseman Andrew Campbell from the Monarchs of the American Hockey League and have placed defenseman Alec Martinez on the injured reserve list (retroactive to February 11), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Campbell, 25, has played in 28 games for the Monarchs this season and has recorded eight points (1-78), 26 penalty minutes and a plus-13 rating (leads Monarchs defensemen). Originally selected by the Kings in the third-round (74th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-3, 207-pound native of Caledonia, Ontario, has not played in the NHL though he was recalled by the Kings earlier this month. He will wear No. 81.

Martinez has been placed on the injured reserve list due to an upper body injury. Through 11 games, Martinez has two points (1-12) and four penalty minutes.

The Monarchs host the St. John's IceCaps at the Verizon Wireless Arena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013. Catch all the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on the Monarchs Radio Network WGIR 610 AM, WTPL The Pulse 107.7 FM, WGIR.com and at www.manchestermonarchs.com, presented by Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.
