Campbell Agrees to Terms on AHL Contract

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Feb. 13, 2013) - The Bridgeport Sound Tigers announced today that forward Scott Campbell has agreed to terms on a one-year, American Hockey League contract for the remainder of the 2012-13 season.
Campbell, 26, signed a professional tryout contract (PTO) with the Sound Tigers on Dec. 19 after starting the 2012-13 campaign with the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers. In 16 games with the Sound Tigers, the second-year pro has two goals and four assists, including the game-winning goal in the Sound Tigers' 4-2 win over Binghamton on Jan. 19.
The Navan, ON, native compiled 31 points (15 goals, 16 assists) in 51 regular season games with Las Vegas as a rookie last season, and led the Wranglers with eight goals in 18 Kelly Cup playoff games. Campbell posted 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 24 ECHL games this season before joining the Sound Tigers.
Prior to turning professional, Campbell attended the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. In four seasons with the Riverhawks, the 6'2, 210-pound center totaled 85 points (39 goals, 46 assists) in 126 games.
The Sound Tigers host the Providence Bruins this Saturday at Webster Bank Arena at 7:00 p.m., and close out their weekend on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. against the Norfolk Admirals.
