What You Need To Know About The Toronto Marlies...

- Toronto has won six of their last seven games. Five of those seven games have been decided by one goal

- Mike Kostka has recorded at least one point in five straight contests. He currently ranks second amoungst AHL defencemen in scoring (22)

- Captain Ryan Hamilton is just two goals shy of claiming sole possession atop the all-time Marlies goal-scoring list. Jeremy Williams currently holds top spot (74)

- Toronto holds a record of 13-3-0-1 when scoring the game's first goal

- Over the past five games Toronto's powerplay has scored five times on 20 opportunities (25.0%). The penalty kill unit has allowed just three goals on 22 opportunities (86.4%)

- The Marlies have yet to lose a game in regulation when leading after two periods (11-0-0-1)

- Goaltender Jussi Rynnas ranks second in the AHL in shutouts (3)

Last Week: The Toronto Marlies won back-to-back games this past weekend. On Saturday, Toronto travelled to Rochester to play the Amerks for the fourth time in six games.

The Marlies came away with a 4-3-shootout victory. Mike Kostka and Matt Frattin both scored in regulation and the shootout to secure the win for Toronto. Ben Scrivens stopped 22 of 25 shots as well as all four Rochester attempts in the shootout to earn his ninth victory of the season.

Toronto returned home on Sunday for an afternoon contest with the Grand Rapids Griffins. The Marlies dropped the Griffins by a score of 5-0 in what proved to be a milestone afternoon at Ricoh Coliseum. Keith Aucoin's goal at 20 seconds of the second period marked his 800th career AHL point. With the goal, Aucoin became just the 11th player in league history to reach the 800-point mark.

Further to Aucoin's milestone, at the conclusion of Sunday's game Jussi Rynnas moved into first place all-time on the Toronto Marlies shutout list.

Look Ahead: Toronto will play three games in four days before the Christmas break.

Tonight's 7 p.m. contest in Cleveland marks the first Wednesday game of the season for the Marlies. Mike Sgarbossa leads Lake Erie in scoring with 24 points in 27 games.

On Friday, Toronto returns home to take on the San Antonio Rampage at 7 p.m.

The Marlies defeated the Rampage by a score of 5-3 in the only other meeting between the two clubs this season. Jon Rheault leads San Antonio in scoring with 21 points in 28 games.

Saturday afternoon will mark Toronto's last game before the holiday break. Game time is set for 3 p.m. at Ricoh Coliseum against the St. John's IceCaps, AHL affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets. Derek Meech leads the IceCaps in scoring with 15 points in 26 games.
