Norfolk Admirals News Release

HERSHEY, Penn. - Braden Holtby stopped all 35 shots by the Norfolk Admirals (11-13-1-0) as the Hershey Bears (14-12-1-1) claimed a 4-0 win on Wednesday night at Giant Center.

The Admirals fell despite out-shooting the Bears, 35-27. Norfolk netminder Igor Bobkov (4-7-0) stopped 23 of 27 shots in the setback, which was just the second regulation setback by the Admirals in seven December games (4-2-1-0).

The Admirals will return to Scope to host the Albany Devils on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Bears took a 1-0 lead 11:35 into the first period. Julien Brouillette sent a shot from the right point that Mattias Sjogren deflected past Bobkov.

Hershey's lead doubled 14:23 into the second stanza. Ryan Potulny entered the Norfolk zone along the right wing and dropped a pass to Jeff Taffe as they crossed paths. Taffe sent a shot from the right circle that Bobkov stopped, but Potulny scored on the rebound in the slot to put the Bears ahead, 2-0.

Tomas Kundratek made it 3-0 for Hershey at 14:42 of the third period with a power play goal. He took a pass in the slot and sent a wrist shot past the glove of Bobkov.

Boyd Kane closed out scoring on the game with nine seconds remaining, as he exited the penalty box and shot the rebound of a Patrick McNeill shot into the net for another power play goal.

Norfolk was 0-for-4 on the power play. Hershey was 2-for-5.

The Admirals return to Scope to host the Albany Devils on Friday and Saturday nights. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.

The first 2,500 fans through the gates on Friday will receive an Admirals Calder Cup Championship replica ring, courtesy of BB&T.
