February 26, 2014 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Toronto FC News Release

Toronto FC announced Wednesday that the club has traded midfielder MatÃ-as Laba to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in exchange for future considerations. As per team and league policy terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"Matias is a great pro and great person, but given our recent acquisitions, we were faced with the reality that he would not be able to play with TFC this season," said Toronto General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko.

Laba, 22, started in all 16 appearances he made for Toronto FC, after signing from Argentinos Juniors of the Argentine Primera DivisiÃ"n as a Young Designated Player on April 26, 2013. Laba scored one goal for Toronto FC, which came on August 4 against the New England Revolution.
