
D.C. United Homegrown Forward Michael Seaton Called up to Jamaica Men's National Team

Washington, D.C. (February 26, 2014) - D.C. United today announced that Michael Seaton has been selected to the Jamaica Men's National Team roster for two upcoming friendlies against Barbados on March 2, and St. Lucia on March 5. Seaton will report to Jamaica for camp on February 28 and return concluding the two friendlies.
Born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, the forward participated in the CFU U-17 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches in July with the U-17 Jamaica National Team, tallying two goals in wins against Bermuda and Antigua and Barbuda. In November, the young striker was called up to the Men's National Team for the first time recorded his first cap and start against Trinidad & Tobago. In the first game, Seaton played 45 minutes after subbing on at halftime, and he earned his first start in the second match up during the teams 2-0 defeat.
The Youth Academy product signed with United on Jan. 14, 2013, becoming the fifth Homegrown player to sign with the Black-and-Red, and the first MLS player to be born after the league began play. In March, he was loaned to the Richmond Kickers of the USL Pro League where he featured in 15 games (11 starts) and finished with five goals and one assist on the season. For United, the teenager saw action in three league games and recorded his lone assist in an international friendly against C.D. Guadalajara on July 12.
