Toronto FC II News Release
Toronto FC II announced Friday that the club has signed midfielder Marcos Nunes to a USL contract. As per club and league policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.
"We are pleased to sign another player that has spent time in our Academy and continues to grow as a professional football player," said Toronto FC II Head Coach Jason Bent. "He has experienced some success early in his young career while playing at Humber. We have no doubt Marcos will be a welcomed addition to the team."
Nunes, 22, originally joined the Kia Toronto FC Academy in June 2014. Last season he played with the Senior Academy team in League1 Ontario scoring 11 goals. Prior to joining the Academy, he spent time with NK Travnik in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina. With NK Travnik, Nunes appeared in 14 matches scoring one goal. Prior to joining NK Travnik, Nunes played for the Humber Hawks. With Humber, he helped to capture both the CCAA National Championship and OCAA Provincial Championship back-to-back in 2012 and 2013. Nunes was also named the 2013 MVP for the CCAA National Championship.
