
Toronto Falls 3-2 in a Shootout

The Peoria Rivermen defeated the Toronto Marlies by a score of 3-2 in a shootout tonight at the Carver Arena in Illinois.
Kenny Ryan gave the Marlies a 1-0 lead with a shorthanded tally late in the first period. After a scoreless middle frame, Adam Cracknell tied the game at one with just over 10 minutes remaining in regulation. Jerry D'Amigo's 14th goal of the season gave the Marlies a 2-1 lead at 18:48 of the third period. With his team's net empty, Derek Nesbitt tipped home a point shot at 19:07 to send the game to overtime. After a scoreless overtime period, Peoria's Derek Nesbitt and T.J. Hensick notched goals in the shootout, while Ryan Lasch tallied the only goal for Toronto.
The Marlies return to the ice on Wednesday, March 27 when they travel to Illinois to play the Rockford IceHogs, AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. Puck drop is set for 8:05 p.m. (ET).
