Welcome Home: The Tulsa Oilers host their second straight home game against the Oklahoma City Blazers tonight. But it's the first home game for the Oilers in 16 days since they hosted the Blazers on January 7th.
Records: Oilers are 13-15-5 with 31 points in fourth place in the Northeast Division. Oklahoma City is 17-11-4 with 38 points in second place in the Northwest Division.
Recent Action: The Oilers dropped a 4-2 decision in Amarillo on Saturday night then faced a 15 and a half hour bus ride home due to weather conditions. Oklahoma City's last game was Friday night, when the Oilers extended Oklahoma City's home winless streak to seven games with a 5-4 win.
Season Series: This is the eighth of 11 scheduled meetings between these two teams this season. The Oilers win on Friday night gives them a 4-3 lead in the season series.
Nice Starts: Three recently acquired Oilers had a good start in the Oilers two road games over the weekend. Bill Newson has registered three goals in his first two games as an Oiler. Kurtis Dulle has four assists and Jamie Lovell has one assist. All three are expected to play their first home game tonight. Lovell wears uniform number 7, Dulle number 21 and Newson number 33.
20-20 Vision: Center David Alexandre Beauregard had goals in both games over the weekend giving him 20 goals on the season. He also has 21 assists and leads the Oielrs with 41 points.
Hit The Deck: The Oilers today signed defenseman Chase Decker and waived defenseman Matt Hanson. Decker is expected to be in the line up tonight and will wear uniform number 19.
Splitting Time: Oklahoma City usually rotates goaltenders, however it's the Oilers who have a more balanced split in playing time among their goaltenders. Bill Ruggiero has logged 1,038 minutes for the Oilers while Jason Montgomery has played 952 minutes. Sebastien Centomo has been in goal for 1,056 Blazer minutes, while Sean Connors has played 899.
Next Up: Both of these teams resume action Friday night. The Oilers host the league leading Colorado Eagles in the first game of Turn Back the Clock Weekend. The Oilers will wear special retro jerseys and have concession specials Friday night. Oklahoma City returns home Friday to face its divisional rival, the Wichita Thunder.
