Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

SOUTHAVEN, MS -- The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs entered Tuesday's game winners of five out of their last six, hoping to end the Memphis Riverkings' nine game winning streak, unfortunately the Bugs fell short 4-1.

Memphis was first on the board as Derek Campbell took hold of a loose puck in between the circles where he shot it past the right shoulder of Adam Hanna.

The Mudbugs rallied in the second period when Ryan Fairbarn's wristshot from the top of the left circle beat Larry Sterling top shelf. The Bugs and RiverKings exchanged power play opportunities with neither team able to score again in the period.

The Mudbugs played the majority of the third period in the Memphis zone but the Kings capitalized on two miskates. Steve Mackway converted when his slapshot squeezed by Adam Hanna. Phil Aucion skated a deflected shot the length of the ice and scored to gain Memphis a two goal lead. Bossier-Shreveport pulled the goaltender but Louis Dumont's empty-net goal would later clinch the win for Memphis.
