Portland Winterhawks News Release

Thirteen-year-old Junior Hawks player Mitchell Lammert is currently battling cancer, and tomorrow the Winterhawks will be holding a fundraiser to benefit Mitchell and his family at their game against the Tri-City Americans at the Memorial Coliseum.

There's a special ticket offer for the game, as 100 level tickets will be sold for $16, with $4 of each ticket purchase going to Mitchell's family. Tickets must be purchased prior to 4 p.m. Friday, and fans can contact L'Erin Waterstreet at 971-230-2961 to take advantage of this offer.

In addition, there will be a silent auction at the game with the proceeds going to the Lammerts. Among the items for sale are a team autographed jersey, a game-worn Brad Ross jersey from the 2008-09 season, a football signed by University of Oregon football coach Chip Kelly, a weekend stay at a townhome in Lake Tahoe, autographed Ryan Johansen memorabilia from the 2011 World Junior Championship and much more. The silent auction will take place next to the Winterhawks team store on the concourse of the Memorial Coliseum.

"Mitchell's brave battle against cancer has been an inspiration to our entire organization," said Portland Winterhawks President Doug Piper. "The Portland hockey community is a tight-knit family, and we're proud to be able to help Mitchell and his family in any way possible."

In addition, fans will be able to purchase special bracelets to benefit Mitchell, and the family will also receive all proceeds from the 50/50 draw and the Chuck-a-Puck contest.
