Friday ‚¬â„¢s contest between the Rockets and Bruins can be seen live throughout western Canada on SHAW and SHAW Direct channel 299 (7:00pm PST).

The Rockets have been off since dropping a pair of decisions in Prince George to the Cougars last weekend, and currently sit three points behind Vancouver for first place in the B.C. Division. The Rockets are 17-10 at home this season, and have won four in a row at Prospera Place. Barrie boasts eight goals and 35 assists for 43 points in just 35 games this season, but was held off the score sheet in the Rockets ‚¬â„¢ two losses in P.G. last weekend.

The Bruins split a home-and-home series versus the Kamloops Blazers last weekend, losing 2-1 in Kamloops on Friday before posting a 4-3 win in Chilliwack on Saturday, and currently sit in ninth place in the Western Conference. KEY WEEKEND MATCH-UPS ‚¬Â¦

Portland Winterhawks vs Tri-City Americans

Friday, Feb. 11

The Portland Winterhawks host the Tri-City Americans on Friday night in an important battle between two top Western Conference teams.

The Winterhawks are coming off a 10-5 win in Spokane over the Chiefs on Wednesday night for their fourth win in a row, and currently sit in first place in the U.S. Division and Western Conference. The Winterhawks have piled up 28 goals over their last four games. The Hawks boast a 22-6-0-2 record on home ice this season.

The Americans have been idle since dropping an 8-2 decision to the Winterhawks in Portland last Saturday, snapping a four-game winning streak, and currently sit in fourth place in the Western Conference. The Ams trail Portland by eight points in the standings, but hold five games in hand on the Winterhawks. The Ams are 12-11-2 on the road this season.

It ‚¬â„¢s the eighth meeting of the season between the Winterhawks and Americans. The Ams have won four of seven meetings versus the Winterhawks, but have only won one of four visits to Portland.

Swift Current Broncos vs Kootenay Ice

Saturday, Feb. 12

The Swift Current Broncos welcome the Kootenay Ice on Saturday night as Cody Eakin marks his first return visit to his former team.

The Broncos are coming off a 6-1 loss to the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday night for their ninth loss in their last 10 games, and currently cling to eighth place in the Eastern Conference. The Broncos hold a one-point lead over Brandon, a two-point lead over Lethbridge and a four-point lead over Regina, but have played two more games than the Wheat Kings and three more games than both the ‚¬ËœCanes and the Pats, meaning they need to start putting up victories if they are to remain in playoff contention.

The Ice are coming off a 7-4 win over the visiting Regina Pats on Tuesday night for their second straight victory, but dropped to fourth place in the Eastern Conference thanks to Medicine Hat ‚¬â„¢s win on Wednesday night. Ice forward Cody Eakin makes his return to Swift Current for the first time since being traded to Kootenay just prior to the WHL trade deadline in January.

It ‚¬â„¢s the third meeting of the season between the Ice and Broncos. The teams split the first two encounters, with the Broncos pulling off a 1-0 win in a shootout over the visiting Ice in Swift Current back on October 11th before falling 5-3 in Cranbrook on New Year ‚¬â„¢s Eve.
