(Toledo, OH) A.J. Jenks scored a shorthanded goal and added an assist in Toledo's 4-3 win Saturday night at the Huntington Center. The series is even at one game apiece with game three Tuesday night in Reading.

The Walleye struck for four goals in the first period. The first came on the power play as both Tyson Spink and Tylor Spink set up a tap in for Kyle Bonis (2nd) at 6:48. Toledo made it 2-0 at 9:22 when A.J. Jenks scored his first playoff goal by cutting in front of the Reading net and wristed a shot past Royals goaltender Martin Ouellette.

The hits kept on coming for the Walleye as Evan Rankin (2nd) bested Ouellette with a rebound goal at 11:41. That goal spelled the end of the night for Ouellette as he was lifted after allowing three goals in six Toledo shots. Adam Morrison took over and allowed a rebound goal to Joel Chouinard at 15:02 for a 4-0 lead after the first period.

Reading didn't start to close the gap until early in the third period with a goal just 41 seconds into the frame. When Brandon Alderson scored at 17:47 the Royals pulled to within one but couldn't pick up the equalizer.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jake Paterson made his first post season start picking the win with 23 saves on 26 Reading shots. Jenks goal in the second period was a shorthanded strike.
