
Toledo's Parkes Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Trevor Parkes of the Toledo Walleye is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 25-March 3.
Parkes scored six goals and added five assists for 11 points in four games last week.
The 21-year-old scored three points (2g-1a) in a 5-4 shootout loss at Fort Wayne on Tuesday and had an assist in a 6-3 loss at Evansville on Thursday. He scored three goals and added an assist in a 7-1 win against Evansville on Saturday and tallied three points (1g-2a) in a 5-4 overtime loss against Trenton on Sunday.
A native of Fort Erie, Ontario, Parkes has 15 points (7g-8a) in seven games with the Walleye this season and has added nine points (3g-6a) in 34 games with Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.
Under contract to the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League, Parkes scored four goals in four games with Toledo last season while scoring eight points (2g-6a) in 44 games with Grand Rapids.
On behalf of Trevor Parkes, a case of pucks will be donated to a Toledo youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 27,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
