
Tokarski Named to AHL All-Star Roster

HAMILTON, ONTARIO - The American Hockey League announced today that Hamilton Bulldogs goaltender Dustin Tokarski has been added to the AHL All-Star Roster for the 2014 AHL All-Star Classic set for February 11th and 12th in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. He will replace Manchester Monarchs goaltender Martin Jones, who will miss the event do to a recall to the Los Angeles Kings, as the AHL All-Stars take on Farjestad BK of the Swedish Hockey League.
In 28 games with the Bulldogs this season, Tokarski ranks third in the AHL with a 2.09 goals-against average and fourth with a .928 save percentage while posting a 15-9-2 record. Over the course of his All-Star season to date, the 5'11", 198-pound goaltender has allowed two or fewer goals in 20 of 26 starts, including each of his past nine. Other highlights this season include wins in six consecutive starts from December 26th to January 12th as well as a 43-save shutout against his former club, the Syracuse Crunch, on November 23rd in Syracuse, New York.
Now in his fifth AHL season, Tokarski has surpassed 200 career AHL regular season games and 5,000 career AHL regular season saves in 2013-2014. The 24-year-old Humboldt, Saskatchewan native won a Calder Cup championship with the Norfolk Admirals in 2012 and has a record of 119-81-13 with 18 shutouts in 222 career AHL regular season games.
Hamilton's next game is scheduled for Friday, January 31st, when the 'Dogs will travel to Abbotsford, British Columbia to take on the Abbotsford Heat (AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames) at 10:00 p.m. at Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre. The Bulldogs will return to Copps Coliseum on Saturday, February 15th when they will host the Texas Stars (AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars) at 7:00 p.m.
