Titans Hold On Against Bombers 3-2

DAYTON, OH (February 13, 2005) - The Trenton Titans used stellar performances from Leon Hayward and Chris Houle to skate to a 3-2 win over Dayton Bombers in front of 2,379 at the Nutter Center.

Former Titan Matt Herneisen broke the scoreless tie 6:17 into the first period when he banged home Bryan Nathe's rebound past Chris Houle.

Trenton would tie the score on the power play when Michael Schutte notched his first goal as a Titan with 15.6 seconds remaining in the first period.

With teammate Connor Dunlop in the penalty box, Leon Hayward gave Trenton the 2-1 lead with a shorthanded goal at 5:45 of the middle period.

Hayward's second goal of the game -and eventual game-winner - gave his team a two-goal cushion at 14:15 of the third period.

Houle helped the lead stand as he made Titans, season-high save totals of 48 over regulation and 24 in the third period. Trenton was 1-for-5 on the power play and 0-for-5 on the penalty kill.
