Trenton Titans News Release

TRENTON, N.J. - Randy Rowe scored a pair of goals and Dave Caruso sparkled in goal as the Trenton Titans (3-7-0-6) recorded a 5-2 win over the Reading Royals (5-5-1-11) Wednesday night at the Sun National Bank Center.

The game was easily the Titans' most complete of the young ECHL season, marked the return of Andy Bohmback from the AHL Adirondack Phantoms and gave then their second win in three outings.

"We played well, and were able to win because we played our system well,'' said Titans head coach Vince Williams. "It was a good game for us.''

Ryan Hayes got the scoring started at 13:37 of the first period, taking a Chris Berenguer pass and putting power-play goal past Royals netminder Karel St. Laurent. The Titans then made it 2-0 on a hustling play by Rowe, who put himself in position to score by outracing the Royals defense at 18:42.

Then, in another bang-bang play that was similar, Dustin Cameron extended the Titans' advantage to 3-0 with 32 seconds left in the first period.

Blair Yaworski's third of the season at 12:21 of the second made it 4-0 after two periods.

Olivier Labelle put in a pair of goals for Reading, one a power-play tally, in the final period, with Rowe netting his second of the night at 14:38.

"It also helped to have Andy back,'' said Williams. "Having him here gives us more balance with the way he plays.''

The Titans travel to Kalamazoo Friday and Cincinnati Saturday, facing the Wings and Cyclones, before returning to Trenton to host the K-Wings next Wednesday.
