ESTERO, FL- The Wheeling Nailers limited the Florida Everblades to just 16 shots on goal in Wednesday night's contest, but the Everblades were able to capitalize on their limited chances. Florida lit the lamp four times in a span of 6:30 in the first period, and proceeded to defeat Wheeling 4-1 in front of 3,546 fans at Germain Arena.

Playing in their first home game since October 15th, the Everblades came out flying in the first period, jumping out to a 4-0 lead with four goals in a span of 6:30. Florida's first goal was a deflection by Luc Tardif, as he knocked David Rutherford's centering feed over Peter Delmas' glove. 3:22 later, Leigh Salters skated down the left side, and beat Delmas with a wrist shot from the left circle. 1:07 after that, Trevor Bruess added to the scoring, lifting in a backhander from the slot. Chris Murray completed the first period scoring, connecting on a wrist shot from the right point, with his team playing on the power play.

In the second period, the Nailers got one goal back. Olivier Dame-Malka took a shot from the left point that got deflected in front by both Patrick Johnson and Chris Barton. Barton's tip ended up changing the direction of the shot enough, as the puck went trickling through John Muse's legs.

Neither team could find the twine in the third period, as the Everblades skated away with the 4-1 victory.

John Muse earned the win in goal for Florida, stopping 27 of the 28 shots he faced. Peter Delmas took the loss for Wheeling, after allowing four goals on eleven shots in the opening period. Patrick Killeen only needed to steer away five shots in the final two frames, as he received a no-decision.

The Nailers return to WesBanco Arena on Tuesday November 15th for their annual Youth Education Day and Business Person Special. Seats start at just $10.
