Titans Add Hayward

TRENTON, NJ (October 16, 2004) - The Trenton Titans announced today that they have agreed to terms with forward Leon Hayward for the 2004-04 season. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hayward, 25, split last season with the Reading Royals and their AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs. In 23 games for the Royals, Hayward totaled 6 goals, 3 assists and 18 PIM, while tallying 8 points (2g, 6a) in 42 games with Manchester.

A third-year pro, Hayward spent his rookie season in 2001-02 with the Richmond Renegades, where he compiled 25 points (12g, 13a) and 107 penalty minutes in 67 games and leading all ECHL rookies with 4 shorthanded goals.

The Seattle, WA-native played collegiate hockey for four years at Northeastern University totaling 30 points in 132 games.
