Pensacola, Fla. â The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that center Kris Newbury and left wing Cam Keith have been assigned to the Ice Pilots from the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL.
Newbury, who stands 5'11" and weighs 200 pounds, played in 72 games last season for St. John's of the AHL scoring 5 goals, 15 assists for 20 points and picked up 153 penalty minutes. During 1998-2003, he played junior hockey for Sarnia and Belleville of the OHL.
Newbury's played in 64 games during his last year in juniors (2002-2003) for Sarnia scoring 34 goals, 58 assists for 92 points and picked up 149 penalty minutes and also played in 66 games during the 2001-2002 season scoring 42 goals, 62 assists for 104 points picking up 141 penalty minutes.
Newbury was selected by San Jose in the 5th round and was the 139th overall player taken in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He is 22 years old from Brampton, Ontario.
Keith, who stands 6'3" and weighs 210 pounds, played in 36 games at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks last season scoring 12 goals, 14 assists for 26 points picking up 14 penalty minutes and also played in four games for Hartford of the AHL.
Keith played in a total of 144 games at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks from 2000-2004 scoring 41 goals, 59 assists for 100 points picking up 78 penalty minutes. He is 23 years old from Nelson, British Columbia.
The Ice Pilots will play the Gwinnett Gladiators tonight in a preseason game at the Pensacola Civic Center at 7:05 p.m. All Relief Workers are invited to attend the game tonight as guests of the Ice Pilots.
A special table will be set up in front of the Civic Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. All Relief Workers would need to show their identification and will be able to attend the game as guests of the Ice Pilots.
Individual game tickets for the Ice Pilots preseason game for tonight are on sale. Cost of individual game tickets for tonight's preseason game are $10 for all lower level seats and $5 for all upper level seats.
Individual game tickets for all 36 home games during the regular season will go on sale this Friday, October 15 at 10:00 a.m. Cost for individual game tickets during the regular season are $22 for floor and glass, $15 for sides, $13 for behind the goal and lower upper level and $10 for upper level seats.
Fans can purchase individual game tickets for tonight's preseason game and all 36 regular season home games in person at the Civic Center box office, at any Ticketmaster location, Charge by Phone at 850-434-7444 or through the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com.
The Ice Pilots under new Head Coach Dave Farrish will begin the 2004-2005 regular season at Mississippi on October 23 and play their home opener Saturday, October 30 vs. the Kelly Cup Finalists Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m.
Season tickets for all 36 home games for floor and glass seats are $649.44, side seats are $459.00, goal seats and lower upper seats are $411.84 and upper seats cost $324.00. 16 game plans, 8 game plans and flex packs also are available.
