Three Players Released From Training Camp Roster

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators 4-1 tonight at the Pensacola Civic Center in their final preseason game of the year.

The game was tied at one after the first period. Rob Fried scored for Gwinnett at the 4:24 mark to give the Gladiators a 1-0 lead. Dwayne Hay of the Ice Pilots scored at 5:43 on a hard wrist shot to tie the game at one.

In the third period, the Ice Pilots scored three times. Ryan Vince scored :54 seconds into the period to give the Ice Pilots a 2-1 lead. Chris St. Jacques scored at the 9:44 mark and Aaron Phillips added an empty net goal at 19:42 to give the Ice Pilots a 4-1 win.

Todd Ford, who relieved Frederic Cloutier in goal with 9:23 left in the second period, was the winning goalie stopping all 16 shots.

After the game, Ice Pilots Head Coach Dave Farrish released defenseman Tony Gliniany, forward Yann Joseph and forward Cerrone Natale from the training camp roster. With the addition of left wing Cam Keith and center Kris Newbury assigned by Toronto of the NHL today, the Ice Pilots currently have 21 players on the roster.

The Ice Pilots will begin the regular season next Saturday night, October 23 at Mississippi at 7:35 p.m. and play their home opener on Saturday, October 30 vs. Florida at 7:05 p.m.
