Tippett Throws a Gem

Snapper starting pitcher Brad Tippett threw a gem Saturday night at Pohlman Field as the Snappers were able to take game one of the four game series 5-2.

Tippett pitched eight scoreless inning to run his record to 9-7 as he struck out five batters and only scattered five hits. While shutting down the Bees offense Tippett managed to lower his ERA to 2.98.

The Snappers jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in the third with Michael Harrington leading off with a single to left. Angel Morales kicked started his big night at the plate as he knocked his 21st double of the year and moved Harrington to third. James Beresford grounded into a fielder choice that scored Harrington giving the Snapper the 1-0 lead. Ramon Santana doubled to left that scored Morales to end the scoring in the third.

The very next frame Morales crushed his 13th home run of the season to dead center for a three-run blast giving the Snapper all the run support that they need Saturday night.

Morales on the night went 2-for-3 at the dish as he scored two runs and drove in three.

The Snappers will play two Sunday afternoon with game one starting at the normal 2:00pm start. Each game is scheduled for seven innings as fans can come out for Kyle Weaver bobblehead day at Pohlman Field. Weaver is a Beloit native who now plays for the NBA franchise Oklahoma Thunder.
