Bakersfield, Calif. - The annual Tip-A-Condor dinner was held on Monday evening at Buck Owens' Crystal Palace, and raised $7,431 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The amount is a new Condors record, breaking last season's record total. Over $20,000 has been raised in the event's history.

The dinner, in its fourth year and sponsored by KUZZ 107.9, featured members of the team serving drinks and waiting on patrons at the Crystal Palace. There was also an auction after the dinner and several players and Condors staff participated in karaoke to raise money. Karaoke tips were raised as well, and included the entire team singing, and individual performances by D Quinn Fair ("Elvira" by the Oak Ridge Boys), the "Voice of the Condors" Kevin Bartl ("White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane and "Like a Virgin" by Madonna) and Condors Corporate Account Manager Michael Reeves ("Oops, I did it again" by Brittany Spears).

Auction items raised a good portion of the grand total, nearly surpassing last season's record total by itself. The auction included player packages of merchandise and game used equipment for Fair, Paul Rosebush and Jon Mirasty, a signed action shot of Condors legend Kevin Barrett, a radio/television broadcast headset from last year, and team trading card and program press sheets. The stick used by Rosebush in obtaining his 100th Condors goal last weekend was up for bid, bringing in $750. Team-signed jerseys from former Condors G Kevin St. Pierre's new team in Fort Wayne, a Central Hockey League jersey from Odessa, a Condors jersey and Andrew Ianiero's 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game jersey all brought in hefty bids as well. St. Pierre's and Ianiero's jerseys brought in a combined $1,625.

"Events like these are really important for our foundation," said Make-A-Wish Director Linda Hartman. "We really rely on fundraisers and when an organization does an event like this it's a huge help. I think it's incredible that the Condors drop everything they have to do for themselves and their own organization to constantly find time for the community. I think the Condors and Make-A-Wish make a really good team."

The Condors will host the Idaho Steelheads on Wednesday night at 7:00pm at Centennial Garden. That night features the California Highway Patrol's Cesar E. Chavez Book Drive.

Anyone donating a new or gently used children's book can purchase a terrace ticket for just $1. It's also the final D.A.R.E. Night, in which all students graduating from the D.A.R.E. program receive complimentary admission, courtesy of 101.5 KGFM and Holiday Inn Select.
