Dayton Bombers News Release
Olivier Proulx extended a point scoring streak to five with a pair of goals, while Janne Jokila had a goal and two assists as the Dayton Bombers defeated the Cincinnati Cyclones 5-2 at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Wednesday night during a "St. Patrick's Day" Bash.
Proulx's first goal tied the score at one 9:51 into the first period. After Scott Cameron just missed the net on a shot, Proulx's pass from behind the goal line caromed off goalie Tyler Masters' leg and into the net.
Brian Ridolfi made it 2-1 at 12:22 on a quick shot from the circle that beat Masters. Then, at 16:14, Janne Jokila displayed a crafty maneuver by sideskating defenseman Nick Nutcher in the face-off circle before feeding the puck over to Chad Theuer for a score.
Theuer helped return the favor for Jokila with 50 seconds remaining in the second period. Theuer skated in on a two-on-one, then fed Jokila for a goal to make it 4-1. Proulx added an insurance goal from Jokila and Jason Deskins at 14:50 of the third period.
Goalie Andrew Penner, making his 16th straight start, made 41 saves for the Bombers, 17 in the third period. Jake Wiegand extended a point-scoring streak to six with an assist.
Philip Lewandowski and Mike Henderson scored for the Cyclones.
