TRENTON, NJ (March 17, 2004) – The Titans skated away with a 4-2 victory over the Peoria Rivermen, and gained an important two points in their playoff push. And it was with the help of Peoria defensemen Dave Csumrik's skate that Scott Bertoli netted the 100th goal of his Titans career.

The Rivermen took the lead at 15:02 of the first period as Colin Hemingway took a face-off win and fired a turnaround slapshot that beat Andrew Allen to the blocker side. Scott Bertoli's 100th ended up a timely goal as it tied the score up at 2-2 heading into the first intermission. Devin Rask had the lone goal of the second period that put the Titans on top when he skated in alone and rocketed the puck over Levente Szuper right shoulder. The Rivermen pulled Szuper in an attempt to tie it up late in the third but came up short when the Vince Williams shot the puck off the boards and into the empty net.

Andrew Allen made 28 saves for his 30th win of the season. The Titans are now 29-0-0 when leading after the two period..

The Titans gain two points tonight but are still trail four points behind the Reading Royals for the fifth and final playoff spot. The Titans hope to change that when the Royals visit Sovereign Bank Arena Friday, March 19, at 7:30pm and Saturday March 20, at 7:00pm.

The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL – America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Trenton Titans play at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ. If you're interested in tickets, call 609.599.9500.
