LAST TIME OUT: The TinCaps shut out the Peoria Chiefs, 4-0, on Monday afternoon at Dozer Park to end their 6-game road trip. Osvaldo Hernandez tossed 6 scoreless innings, allowed 3 hits, no walks, and struck out 3. In the win, Jalen Washington hammered his 5th home run of the season.
POLISHED PATINO: In his last 3 games, Luis Patiño has tossed 17 innings, allowed 6 hits and only 1 ER (0.52 ERA). He has 19 strikeouts in this span against 6 walks. Since his 2nd start of the season where he gave up 7 ER in 3.1 IP @ West Michigan, he has allowed only 4 ER in 39 IP, good for a 0.92 ERA in that time. Meanwhile, at 18 years old, Luis is the the 3rd youngest pitcher in the MWL. Since May 23 (a day after his start @ WM), Patiño has the lowest ERA among any qualifying pitcher in Class Low-A (Midwest League and South Atlantic League).

Fort Wayne is even with South Bend. Dayton and Lake County are 1 game back, West Michigan is 2 games back, and Great Lakes is 5 in the rearview.
IN CONTROL: TinCaps pitchers have walked the fewest batters in the Midwest League this season - 272 in 814.0 IP. That's only 3.0 BB/9.
THE FUTURE IS NOW: Baseball America rated 2017 TinCaps shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. as the "Best Player" in Sunday's MLB Futures Game. The 19-year-old went 2-for-5 for the World Team. Tatis also stole a base, was smooth at short, and while playing third, unleashed a throw to first at 91 MPH. One of his hits came on a 102 MPH fastball by Dayton's Hunter Greene.
KELVIN GETS ON: Kelvin Melean has reached base safely in each of his first 8 games with the TinCaps. In 8 games, Kelvin is slashing .346/.485/.538 with 5 doubles.
HOME SWEET HOME: The TinCaps are 28-20 at Parkview Field compared to 16-29 (.355) on the road this season. TinCaps pitchers actually have a slightly lower ERA on the road than they do at home (3.61 vs. 3.71). However, Fort Wayne is hitting .217 on the road, while batting .263 at home. At home, the 'Caps have averaged 4.8 runs per game. That number drops to 3.6 on the road. Individually, Luis Campusano is slashing .320/.276/.406 at home, Tirso Ornelas is slashing .319/.429/.444, and Nick Feight is slashing .326/.341/.512.
LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 7th in runs (56), 8th in walks (49), 8th in OBP (.382)... Esteury Ruiz is 3rd in SB (32)... Robbie Podorsky is tied 9th in SB (20)... Osvaldo Hernandez is 1st in ERA (2.09)... Aaron Leasher is 7th in ERA (3.06)... Travis Radke is tied for 3rd in saves (11).
BULLPEN BOOMERANG: TinCaps relievers have posted a 2.96 ERA over the last 75 games since April 25. In this time, the 'pen has been led by Travis Radke, Caleb Boushley, Evan Miller, and Ben Sheckler. Through the first 19 games of the year, the bullpen had allowed 60 ER in 72.1 IP for a 7.47 ERA.
