LAST NIGHT: The TinCaps fell to the Lugnuts, 7-3, at Parkview Field.

The average age for a 'Caps pitcher is 20.7, also the youngest in the MWL (league average: 21.1). Fort Wayne has had the most youthful lineup in the circuit each of the previous 5 years going back to 2014. The TinCaps had the youngest pitching staff in the league in 2016 and ranked tied for 2nd youngest in '18, 2nd youngest in '17, '13, and '12. According to Baseball America, Justin Lopez is the 5th youngest player in the league right now at 18.

WEATHERS WOWS: Ryan Weathers struck out 9 batters in 5 innings of shutout ball on Opening Night. He's 1 of 3 MWL pitchers to rack up 9 Ks in a start so far this season.

FAST STARTS: Infielder Xavier Edwards and outfielder Agustin Ruiz are both 4-for-8 to begin the season. Edwards has also drawn a pair of walks without striking out yet and has driven in 3 runs.

BIG PATIENCE: Outfielder Grant Little has drawn 4 walks through 2 games, tied for the MWL lead. Little ranked tied for 7th in the Big XII in walks last year with 40 in 65 games. (Little also led the conference in doubles, was 2nd in RBIs, 3rd in overall hits, 3rd in OBP - .462, 3rd in total bases, 4th in SLG%, 4th in runs scored, and tied for 6th in home runs with 12.
