TinCaps Draw Largest Crowd of Season So Far on Sunday Afternoon

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The TinCaps drew their largest crowd of the season so far at Parkview Field, but the Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers affiliate) won the series finale, 8-3.

A gathering of 5,504 fans filled most of the seats at the downtown venue on a near-80-degree, sunny day. Entertainment for the fans was capped off with Postgame Autographs presented by Midwest Box Breaks.

As for the game, Great Lakes (14-7), which initially scored two runs in the first and one in the fifth, broke a 3-3 tie with a tally in the top of the sixth inning. The visitors from Michigan added another in the seventh, one more in the eighth, and then two in the ninth.

Fort Wayne (8-12) had equalized, 3-3, in the fifth. Third baseman Devin Ortiz hit a two-run single and left fielder Tyler Robertson added a game-tying single. Ortiz, Robertson, and shortstop Nik McClaughry each had two hits on the day.
