Time to Octopi Minnesota for Saints Three Game Homestand
July 16, 2012 - American Association (AA)
St. Paul Saints News Release
ST. PAUL, MN (July 13, 2012) - The St. Paul Saints and their fans are nothing if not trendy and that's why we support the geek in all of us. It may be only a three game homestand, but this is the time to octopi Minnesota. Didn't you hear me? Bueller.Bueller.Bueller? Let's all play hooky as the Saints and Grand Prairie AirHogs battle it out for the first time since the 2011 American Association Championship Series.
The homestand begins on Monday, July 16 with a 7:05 p.m. against the AirHogs. Whether you consider yourself a geek, dweeb or nerd we think you're one of the cool kids because Geek is Chic. If you're a fan of Steve Urkel, the reality show Beauty and the Geek, McLovin or real life geek Mark Zuckerberg then strap on your suspenders, wrap tape around your glasses and put in your pocket protector and head out to the ballpark. No geek night is complete without a little liquid courage on BUZ'N Buck Beer Night where select drafts are just $1.
On Tuesday, July 17 at 7:05 p.m. it's time to Octopi Minesota. Around the world tent cities are popping up from Wall St. to Peavey Park to protest social injustice. The Saints will bring light to an injustice of another kind as they bring to you Octopi Minnesota.1% of mollusks have 99% of the legs. The octopus flaunts its legs in the face of others, like the clam or oyster which has none. This night gives a voice to the 99% who aren't as fortunate. It's only fitting on this day that the 99 percenters have a chance to join the one percenters on St. Croix Casino Big Money Tuesday where every fan has a chance to win up to $77,777.
Rev up the 1978 Alfa Romeo 2000 Sport Sedan, take the day off work and head to the 1:05 p.m. game on Wednesday, July 18. It's the final game of the homestand and if you show up to the ballgame there is the chance to catch a foul ball. Just don't let your boss see you on TV. Feel free to break out in a little Danke Schoen or even Twist and Shout. What better way to spend time away from work than with the craziest tailgate party of the year on Walser Wednesday.
This is the middle of the Saints home schedule, so if you haven't been out to Midway Stadium for all the fun and hilarity now is the time. If baseball is your sweet spot then a rematch of last season's American Association Championship Series should whet your appetite. If zaniness is in your zone then three days of laugh out loud fun will be served to you on a platter.
Tickets for Saints home games are $5 for general admission, $8 for outfield reserved and $12 for infield reserved. Tickets purchased on the Day of the Game are an additional $1 per ticket. Children under the age of 14 and seniors 65 and older receive $1 off the admission price. Children under 2 that don't require a seat are free. Tickets are available by contacting the Saints ticket office at 651-644-6659 or visiting saintsbaseball.com.
